What we have to say Latest news CVDPREVENT NATIONAL AUDIT We are working with the NHS Benchmarking Network on a project to understand how many people with high-risk conditions are potentially undiagnosed, under-treated or even over-treated. The work will particularly focus on atrial fibrillation, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, non-diabetic hyperglycaemia and chronic kidney disease: these all cause stroke, heart attack and dementia. The CVDPREVENT Audit uses data already held by GPs. It will identify gaps and inequalities, as well as ways in which services can be improved. To help with the work, we are running a panel of 35 patients from across England. They will include patients who have the heart-related conditions that CVDPREVENT is focusing on. The Patient Panel will ensure that patients influence the way that the audit results are reported and communicated, so that it makes a difference to patients’ health and wellbeing in the prevention of cardiac related illness. The Patient Panel meetings will be held in July and October 2021 and February 2022 (dates are on the registration form). An £80 Amazon voucher will be offered in recognition of your time for each session and places are limited. Recruitment will be completed by the end of June. If you would like to take part, please complete this registration form. In order to ensure a wide geographical spread and all of the above conditions, recruitment and selection will include a short telephone conversation. Places are limited so if we receive large numbers of applicants we may not be able to include or get back to everyone but will do our best to do so by the end of June 2021 and thank you for your interest. No personal information will be retained following the selection process, in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The NHS Benchmarking Network will be responsible for reporting to Health Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP) about the progress of the CVDPREVENT programme.
