About us Our supporters Our supporters We are an independent registered charity that offers support and advice to patients and their families, signposting them through the health and social care system. We also provide opportunities for patients and carers to share their experiences of health and social care services with regulators, the health service and organisations representing health professionals. We use what we hear from patients when we partner with the NHS and healthcare providers to apply pressure and improve services. Our work is supported by individual members’ donations, and by organisations and groups through corporate membership, corporate donations and collaborative projects with NHS Trusts, universities and others. The Patients Association does not receive core funding from The Department of Health or any other government body. Corporate partners Several of our corporate members have been supporting the Patients Association for many years. A financial donation to us is just the beginning of a partnership between us and a corporate member. By partnering with us, businesses demonstrate their commitment to patients and carers and our strategy to embed patient partnership across the health and care system. Being a member also demonstrates to your employees that you support patients and carers. We are very grateful for the support our corporate members provide us. If you’d like to know more about how your organisation could benefit from a corporate membership with the Patients Association, get in touch [email protected]. This is a list of our current corporate partners. Project partners Many of the projects we run that enable patients and the carers to work directly with healthcare professionals are done in partnership with different kinds of organisations. In the last few years, we’ve partnered with the doctors’ regulator the General Medical Council, NHS England and royal colleges, on projects as diverse as supporting the new Integrated Care Systems partner with their local communities and evaluating which medicines and treatments should be available on the NHS. The work with do with project partners is a critical part of our efforts to promote patient partnership. Each of our projects is developed with our Theory of Change in mind, and we are grateful to the partners who work with us and patients. Here's list of the partners we've worked with in the recent past. Donors Current donors About our relationship with supporters As an independent organisation we will only enter into a relationship based in line with full partnership principles and will only work with organisations that help us achieve our objectives as set out in our governing document. Our corporate members and project partners have no influence over the Patients Association’s policies and practices. We have full editorial control over all materials produced in connection with a funded project including meetings, conference agendas and external communication. We reserve the right to end any partnership where its continuation may damage our reputation or result in harm to patients, carers or our members.
