Get involved Events AGM 2019 Our AGM took place on 8 October 2019, and we were delighted to be able to stream the meeting live online this year so that people who couldn't make it to the meeting in person, could hear our updates. You can watch the meeting in full in the video below. We heard from our Chair Lucy Watson, and CEO Rachel Power. and members of the team, who presented on: Our strategy and objectives for the future Our achievements in 2018/19 Our current and future policy and campaigning work Our work with NHS Trusts and other organisations to improve patient care Our helpline and the themes people contact us about. The highlight of the afternoon was the vibrant panel who joined us to discuss the subject of "Improving Patients' Experience". Kirit Mistry, a self-described "passionate patient" with type 2 diabetes, talked about the importance of being smart and persistent when you are campaigning for change. Cyrilene Cullen, who cares for her son Fergus, gave a moving account of the difference that patient-centred care had made to their lives. While Yvonne Coghill OBE, Director for Workforce Race Equality Standards Implementation for NHS England, talked about the need for a workforce that reflects the diversity in society, and pointed out there are benefits to patients of having caregivers who are happy in their jobs. There was lots of food for thought, great engagement and questions from the members who attended, and plenty of ideas for us to include in our work over the following year. Not yet a member?
