The Patients Association is the only non-condition specific patient-led charity in the UK.

First established in 1963 in response to the drug thalidomide, we have a long history of investigating health and care concerns raised by patients, monitoring trends in patient satisfaction and promoting good practice amongst healthcare professionals.

Chief Executive Rachel Power took up her role with the charity in July 2017 and has guided the board of Trustees and the team through a new governance and delegation structure.

In December 2017 the board agreed a three year strategy and business plan on which work will commence from January 2018.
