In this webinar we will hear about the new Pharmacy First Service, launching at the end of January.

Pharmacy First will be available in more than 10,000 community pharmacies in England. Patients will be able to get treatment for seven common conditions without the need for a GP appointment or prescription.

Conditions community pharmacists will be able to treat include sinusitis, sore throat, earache, infected insect bite, the skin infection impetigo, shingles, and uncomplicated urinary tract infections in women aged 65 and under.

Joining us on 29th February to discuss Pharmacy First are:

  • David Webb, Chief Pharmaceutical Officer for England
  • Pallavi Dawda, Head of Delivery, Clinical Strategy Community Pharmacy, NHS England
  • Leighton Colegrave, member of Hertfordshire and West Essex ICB's Patient Engagement Forum
  • Tunde Sokoya, community pharmacist, Essex
  • Lindsey Fairbrother, community pharmacist, Derbyshire.

Our Chief Executive Rachel Power will chair the webinar. As with all the Patients Association’s webinars, it’s free to register and the event will be held online. Just follow the link in the Book button to reserve your place.

This is the third of the webinars the Patients Association is holding in partnership with NHS England to discuss and explain  changes in primary care. If you missed the first two webinars, recordings are available: Changes in primary care: understanding the role of the reception team, and Understanding changes in primary care: your wider general practice team

We'll be sharing details of a fourth webinar soon.
